If you are like most homeowners and are cost conscious, you may want to consider changing your granite counter tops color selection to less expensive models. If you absolutely love the more expensive variations, it's important to keep in mind that the higher granite price points are comparable to quartz counter tops. The advantage of quartz is that the material is stain resistant, chemical resistant, and bacterial resistant. It is in many ways a superior product and is priced in line with the most expensive granite options.
Granite countertop colors and choices are endless. If you travelled the world, you could find over 300 different granite variations. You can spend more time looking and falling in love with different colors than you can actually making a decision. The more important consideration is that you visit your distributor and purchase all of the granite needed as one purchase. The reason is that granite is a natural material that varies from lot to lot. If you purchase some of your color materials now and the balance at a future date, there is a strong possibility that the colors will not match. The same exact color from the same quarry will not match perfectly if you buy different lots. Keep that in mind and make sure both you and your contractor are present when its time to pick your slabs.
