How Many White Granite Countertops Are Available?

White Granite Countertop White is such a basic staple color in our daily lives and we think of the color in very simplistic terms. Yet when it comes to white granite countertops, the options are more than you would think. There are almost thirty variations of the color white and it is often best to sort them by cost and country of origin. The factors that can impact cost are the rarity of the color, the country of origin, how far it has to travel to its destination, and the stone detail highlights.

Some of the entry-priced white granite countertops are as follows:

  • Imperial White (also called Tippu White) - This color is readily available and can be found in China, India, and even some parts of South America. It is the default white option that you may find at your local home improvement store. It can be described as having little veins of grey on a white background with occasional pink or peach splashes.

  • Carrera Marble - Although this color is technically not a granite, it is very commonly used in situations that call for white granite countertops. This color is originally sourced from Italy and Spain, however is now available with slight variations from China and Brazil. The European variations can be described as a bright white base color with grey veining. The Chinese variation will also include pink veins along side the grey colors.

  • White Spring - This color is typically found in Brazil and has some unique characteristics. It can be described as having a creamy white base with hints of beige, black, and even red flakes. White is the primary color and will tend to be the strongest element of this countertop color.

  • Kashmir White - This color is typically found in India. As far as white granite countertops are considered, it is more along the white to beige spectrum and slightly darker than an eggshell color. It also can be described as having black-grey veins with red-brown spots on white with slight and surprising hints of the color green. Although it is considered an entry priced color, you may occasionally see it in the middle-tiered pricing schedule when the stone displays its more unique characteristics.

A sampling of the middle-priced white granite countertops are as follows:

  • Safari Ivory - This color is typically found in India. It has unique grains running throughout with lines of peach-pink and grey. The base color will vary from off white to grey-white to even a dominant grey. If you are considering it for a white kitchen or bathroom, it is important to hand select the slabs to ensure consistency.

  • White Starlight (also called Mozambique White and White Diamond) - This color used to be mined in Africa, but is now more readily available from Brazilian mines and quarries. It is a fairly rare color and can be described as having a mix of black, grey, and white clusters on a translucent white background. There is a lot of character and depth to this color.

  • Bianco Sardo (also called Luna Pearl) - This color is typically sourced in Italy and Spain. It can be described as having beige, cream, and white flecks on a white background.
